Realizing 2 minutes in, that I'm probably not emotionally prepared for this book right now.

Unbelievably petty of me, I know, but the fact that they just found and ate morels in absolutely the wrong season is driving me nuts.

What happens when your daughter picks a book at random from a pile of vintage sci fi as a new family read aloud.

I made it halfway through...waiting for it to get better. Then felt I had enough time invested that I should finish it....then finally got myself out of that sunk cost fallacy and dropped it. Honestly not sure if if was the book itself or the odd narrative choices of the audiobook, but could t finish.
