Enjoyed the history of the Pacific Coast Leahue and the push for Japanese baseball. I grew up in the 1960's not knowing Lefty O'doul as a player or manager. I knew he had a bar/restaurant in San Francisco and maybe even went. I remember reading of some of his records. The book gave more details of his interactions with familiar baseball names such as Babe Ruth, Joe Dimaggio and Ted Williams among others.

Enjoyed this book with multiple twists. Wasn't sure once I started whether to continue or not. Thought it was the 3rd in a series, but I started anyway. Looked up the preceding books to realize they are independent novels.
