Just not into this. The thought that 40 thousand years later people have the same basic nature, minus some technological and biological advances, seems a bit trite to me. I've loved Hamilton's previous work for its scope, but this one does not really do anything for me.

Very detailed and makes you angry with every passage.

Library loan is up in chapter 20 + 38m with 2:49 left in the book. On hold until it comes back up.

Light, but fun. An interesting exploration to some of the ideas behind what became a Song of Ice and Fire.

Somewhat interesting story. Magical space ships and unexplained reincarnation. Somewhat reminiscent of Permutation City.

A daunting book to begin. I’m also listening to Frank Delaney’s excellent Re: Joyce podcast to help. https://blog.frankdelaney.com/re-joyce/

Rereading this classic which was dated when I was still a kid. It sure was a lot of fun, and created the Space Opera genre.

Gregg Kellogg is starting Robopocalypse (Robopocalypse, #1)
Definitely a page turner and obvious for a movie remake, although I think a limited series on Amazon Prime or Netflix would serve it better. Still, I’m disappointed by the author, who should know better, about playing off horrors of AI gone wild leading to a Terminator-like apocalypse.

It is eerily similar to the post-Trump political situation. I keep having these unsettling feelings that they knew the outcome of the presidential race and crafted a storyline similarly devoid of hope. Luckily, we can eventually expect a good outcome here. In real life? Hopefully so.

Accidentally marked this as complete, and uploaded the wrong review. I'm definitely enjoying this book, the discussion of mental illness, the social web, and IndiWeb.
