Only 70 something pages in and I am swept up in this, and oh how I already love the main character.

It's been a hell of a slow crawl from April to now in trying to find time to edit my book, when for many weeks I was doing 50 hr working weeks, but hey I'm at the tail end of the edits for my own novel. It simply means I have not had a lot of time for anything else! But I am alive haha.

I am loving how this is written so far.

BIG NEWS! Last month I actually FINISHED writing my first novel. IT IS FINISHED. Editing time now! BUT I FINISHED IT AND IT FEELS INCREDIBLE. 10 YEARS IN THE MAKING

I would kill for the Katherine Woods translation. I really, really would.

Being realistic about my reading goals this year, mostly because I want to concentrate a lot more on my own writing and health commitments.

I am very upset that I'm probably not going to reach my reading goal this year. And it's not because I don't want to read, it's because I've been doing so much writing and editing of my own work! I am so scared to lose momentum that I've lost momentum on so much else in life, but hey that's what happens. I want to get this book finished this year.

Guess what - I've given myself the goal of 1 November to finish the first book in my series. That means I can actually do NaNo this year if I succeed. Considering I don't have to write much, just edit, I think this is a fair goal! See you on the other side.

I'm slowly clawing my way through this book - and it's not because it's bad or boring, it's just that I'm so distracted with my own writing projects I would hate to lose my own headspace.

I genuine the way Lovecraft uses a playful mix of such heavy scientific words and creative descriptive storytelling to paint his picture

I am coincidentally in a reading slump because I'm so inspired to write lately and getting a lot done to that end. I feel if I get too involved with a book, I'll lose my headspace for my own characters. Does anyone else have that problem?

I'm moving house in just under two weeks and packing up all my books has been dreadful, absolutely horrific. I am so embarrassed by how many I have.
