This was a record for me: I loathed the FMC within the first handful of pages and seriously considered DNFing. Fortunately, she redeemed herself by the end of chapter 1.

OMG the first 25-30 percent was so full of YEARNING. My heart literally was clenching every chapter.

There's some cute banter and yearning going on here. Pleasantly surprised.

Ugh, Gisela is SUCH A HYPOCRITE. She just gets worse as the book goes on.

The yearning between Ember and Finn though. SWOON

I'm still just as irritated with Gisela on this second readthrough. She was so likeable in the first charter, but all of a sudden became such a brat once she found out that Ember and Fin were exes. I'm where the 2nd charter just started and she's backfilling for sick Leah. She says she's doing something when she obviously wasn't, so where is she? I guess in hindsight she might have been off flirting with Palmer.

Reading this for my BFF who introduced me to Below Deck… the angst has already started *ugh*
