Okay, now this is engaging. I still hate the footnotes-just make it part of the damed story-and I still dislike how slow this book started, but it’s at least becoming a 3 star read…maybe 4.

This book drags. The footnotes are getting on my nerves - just add the info the damn story! I hit moments where it’s really interesting and then there is another footnote and it just drags on. I don’t even see how the footnotes of information are adding to the story. I’d rather read a dictionary! But, I am not giving up! I will finish this damn book and pray to everything that Katabasis is better.
