A fascinating combination of fiction, nonfiction, fantasy, poetry, and almost memoir. A bit hard to get into, but once the concept is clear- absorbing and compelling.

Sometimes you just don’t want a book to end. This is one of those books.

Too much conjecture about what parallel activities might be. Sometimes I like alternatives, but this felt forced.

Continuing saga from Brooklyn and it looks like another one may follow.

Interesting and somewhat confusing. Reads like a memoir but is definitely fiction. Lots of detail but disappointing “action” for a novel. Jane Smiley seems to be trying anew style, which is ok, but this is not one of my favorites.

Definitely slanted to liberal ideas, but well researched and, from my experience, right on.
