An excellent beginning. Looks like another great Agent Pendergast story.

Surprising plot development. I like it.

Interesting so far but seems a little flat and kind of rushed. Not sure why.

After an intriguing prolog, the plot has settled into your typical action sequence - bad guys blow up the secret government lab doing dangerous bio/genetic research. The main character is called in to investigate while more bad guys kill a supporting character who might know what they were after.

Great beginning with the usual mysterious prologue.

I was expecting the book to focus on famous cold cases but so far that has not been the situation. I think I misread the the subtitle (it says perplexing cold cases not famous ones).

Finally made it to the day of the assassination. The pace is staring to pick up (its about time).
