Boring, plot slow, midway through and nothing slightly suspenseful.

I enjoyed reading this book very much, especially the burgeoning relationship between Seth and Viv. The writing is so spot on, it gave me all the feels from my first love 💘 I liked the girl empowerment pop, alltogether a great YA book I would recommend to high schoolers.

Trudy Somers is reading Be Ready When the Luck Happens
First off, I love Ina Garten! Her voice is like a warm, comforting hug at the end of a hard day..
Listening to this audio book read by her was engaging and instructional. I loved her story about her and Jeffrey's first time in Paris, how she faces the No's in life and Jeffrey's mantra, do what you love and you'll find your happiness.

I really enjoyed this book. It was different than I thought which is always a good thing and the question the main protagonist has niggling in the back of her mind is the same one I had, so in the end it is answered clearly. Well written, enjoyable ride!

Loved this book, it read like an episode from Supernatural, in a way. Grabs your attention from the start and keeps you intrigued to the end. Weekdays funny is I did not know this world have supernatural elements to it, which I love, and when it appeared (pun not intended), the book became more interesting.

The writing and analogies Mr. Whitehead uses for his characters, like El (Elwood) is as if you are thinking the same thoughts. Besides being well crafted, I'm tense waiting for the next shoe to drop. When I read Black Boy, years ago, I had the same feeling. The injustice makes me cringe and I'm almost afraid to read the next chapter, but loving the cool character of Turner, I'm relieved when he shows up.
