I started reading this back in February, got about 20 pages in and never felt compelled to pick it up again. I took it on vacation with me to give it another go, and what do you know - this is the right book to read on a plane! Maybe being among clouds makes the lofty language in this feel more appropriate, I don’t know. Still need to finish this another time.

almost 300 pages in a single day is the clearest sign I am really really enjoying this book.

Struggling with the obnoxious main character, doesn’t help that it’s first person perspective. But I have a feeing that the story can get good.
Also struggled with the scenes of a hunt since I keep connecting the description to whales due to the size and it just seems wrong to be hunting smart creatures for profit.

I read the first story some months ago and it felt traumatizing. There should be SO MANY trigger warnings on it. I am scared to keep reading this book tbh, but I want to give it a try.

I had this book on my shelf for more than two years, I just generally struggle with non-fiction. But who knew it’s such an easy read 😬
