Tamara is on page 67 of 357 of Gone to the Woods: Surviving a Lost Childhood
After completing Part One, The Farm, I almost don’t want to continue. Little Gary is in the sweetest, warmest, safest place and I just want to keep him there. I know from reading so many other Gary Paulsen stories, that’s not what happens, and I almost don’t want to know why. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I’m rooting for these young adults, and as I become more invested in their outcomes, I know it will forever change how I respond to refugees and other immigrants.

I'm shelving Waking Up White for now. I'm having trouble connecting to the experiences of the author.

I'm in love with Brian Doyle's sentences, which force me to slow down and reassess what I know, as so many stories play out simultaneously, more like in a real town than in a typical novel. And already I can tell that I will miss the setting and characters long after finishing the book.

I need a shelf entitled "Currently Re-reading" for books I truly love. Slowing down while re-reading this with kids has helped me notice subtle details that I missed when I first devoured this story. I'm excited to see how those play out.

Tamara is on page 176 of 426 of The Warrior Heir (The Heir Chronicles, #1)
I started The Warrior Heir last night and couldn't put it down. So far it's a satisfying YA fantasy with some unique twists to the magical world. I can see how it would be really easy to read The Heir Chronicles one right after the other, giving myself over to one big hedonistic fantasy binge.
