I really liked the Big, Fat book of world history, but I found mistakes on 6 of the first 9 pages of this one! Misleading, incorrect information to confuse a learner. What a shame. Imagine the people putting their names on this book filled with both errors and mistakes. Errors are one thing; they just show sloppy editing. Mistakes are quite another; they show poor understanding of the subject.

As an audiobook, this absolutely insufferable. The narrator gives these ancient Egyptian characters various accents from the British isles, from posh to cockney to Irish. Though it seems Christie also wrote them that way, unable to see beyond the end of her imperial nose.

It's absolutely dreamy to read well-translated Arabic. Interesting to read the point of view of a woman written by a man, especially in a completely segregated society, and the author does a surprisingly good job with that.

Going slow so I can explore the many people and works of art she mentions

Having trouble finishing the audiobook because one of the two alternating narrators is so unbelievably bad and annoying, emphasizing random words as if she just saw the text for the first time and began recording. A shame — because the other narrator is perfect.
