I have been eagerly waiting for a time my husband and I could sit down and read this together. The book is a joy to hold in my hands and it is a bonus to hear it read in Guite's voice. Curt is enjoying it. Not always do our tastes align, so it is pure joy to share this during the quiet August evenings.

I was trained to seek out first-person witnesses to historical events. I truly enjoyed Margaret Kennedy's The Feast, and stumbled upon this title of MK's diaries (journals?) published by Yale University Press in 1941.

I'm listening to the audio on Everand, and checking the print book on archive.org.

I've always kept a wide berth around Georgette Heyer's (audiobook pronounces it HAY - er) books. I finally jumped in with Arabella (review coming) and saw this title available on Hoopla.

I'm intrigued *and* disturbed. When a man buys a young boy "body and soul" I am revolted. But I continue on.

I'm not loving this book, but there are enough fun bits that I don't want to DNF it. I still, and will always, adore the cover. I hope the sunflowers I planted this year look as bright as the cover!

This is the kind of book we will want to start over again as soon as we finish it. Not to mention the books added to my TBR stack.
