I'm annoyed that Kitty Genovese's case is being used as an example here; it's factually untrue that no one called the police while she was attacked. Two people did in fact call police (but no 9-1-1 existed, so prioritization was different), and one lady even held her as she bled out, but the major newspaper lied about the facts.

I really hope the Lindsey the American Girl doll Carmella owned is a reference to Lindsey Bergman, the first AG Girl of the Year doll. It fits the timeline of when Lucy and her sister would be young girls.
