This is the story of three women, across three generations, all connected to the Sprague Mansion of Newport. We rotate through each of their struggles across time: Andie 2019, Ellen 1899, and Lucky 1958. I’ve read books with similar formats from several of the authors. Unfortunately, the plot was too slow and didn’t really feel like there was much uniting the women other than the mansion.

When the present drags her back to the town where she almost died, Naomi tries to determine who and what to trust. A story driven by the blurred lines between fact and fiction that come from unreliable memories.
Small town secrets combine with childhood games threatened by mental health issues to drive the plot. Overall solid.

This is a solid psychological thriller. The gaslighting is strong in this one, so reader be aware. I do think that the build up made this a slow burn. But the as the pieces fall apart, and the lies unravel, the pace picks up and I couldn’t put it down for the last 150 or so pages.

Conspiracy theories, rock and roll and small town life in the Catskills come together for a wild ride. It felt a bit far fetched at times, but then that adds to conspiracy aspect and made for a wild plot.

Slow pacing but poignant.

Typical atmospheric thriller, told through multiple perspectives. Trapped in the depressing Black Harbor one girl is found dead, another missing- who did it? The options are plentiful.
