I was so excited to see this! I love Thomas Harris! His as-yet untitled upcoming book doesn't seem to be listed on GR yet. I am definitely pre-ordering this. :D

Maybe now's not the best time to read this.
OTOH, maybe everyone should read it now.

So, we can no longer delete progress updates? And GR is finding invisible ghost editions to randomly count in rereads? Yeah, not worth it if it screws everything else up, guys. Let me add this again, to make it findable: Wake Up

This "Reread" feature is nice, in theory...but gimpy in reality. This is not a reread for me. It's saying I have another edition shelved, but I don't.

Just Elise is starting The Watchmaker of Filigree Street (The Watchmaker of Filigree Street, #1)
There are some thoroughly baffling lines in here. Trying to understand them seems to be an exercise in futility. Ignoring those, it's otherwise not horribly written, and seems interesting so far.

Woah, jeez. Remind me not to do that again. Importing anything to GR = bad.

If you haven't read this play and decide to get a copy, DO NOT get the Arden Shakespeare version. The annotations are full of spoilers.

The extraneous, randomly placed commas, in this, particular edition, are, driving, me, nuts. I hope they're not in the original. I found an ebook of the title story which seems to be properly punctuated. Yay. I really like this story! Definitely want to read more of his work! He's been on my radar for a while. Very excited about his work so far!

Ms. Stewart continues to give me the somewhat chilling feeling that Merlin wanted his story told, and chose her to tell it.

I'm trying to avoid a stalker. For now, I've set my profile to private, but I don't want to keep it that way. I may end up making a new account. I'm weighing my options.

I'm really glad I've gone back to read the parts I listened to. It turns out I did miss a lot. I can't fully appreciate everything about a book when I listen to it, or even parts of it. Let this be my lesson. Of course, it may be that this particular book was a bad one to try that with.

It seems like half of the people who start this book DNF it. I'm doing the exact opposite. I have decided to start over.

Out of concern for time, I've been listening to parts of the audiobook. It is so exquisitely written, I know I'm depriving myself of wonderful intracacies.

It is like having the finest, rarest vintage and guzzling it. Diluting it, even.

This is something to be truly savored.

This is brilliantly written. I LOVE the humor, and the way the plot keeps steadily but slowly building. I'm pretty sure this will be heading to my favorites list.

With the introduction of a few characters, things have gotten more intriguing and seem less bogged down. Hoping it keeps picking up from here. The story line has kept me going, but it's been something of a struggle to wade through the dry, heavy textbook style. It's interesting but unbelievably slow.

Reading the ebook, on the train this morning I reached the point where the tears started. From that point, I'm only reading this when I'm at home. And my kindle app seems to be making up random numbers. Switching to my print copy.

Burke and Hare. Interesting. That has me wondering how many other characters he named after serial killers. These are the first I've noticed, but I haven't been looking out for them, either. I guess now I will be. :)

Just Elise is reading My Man Jeeves (Jeeves, #1)
Where has this man been all my life?? I LOVE his use of language! His use of slang (often frowned upon for making a work seem dated) is perfect. It's like time-traveling to about 1920 and being regaled with amusing stories. Plus, he has a brilliant, colorful way of wording things that catches the reader by surprise and is just hilarious. Amazing writer. Why did I not find him until now? I've found a new favorite!
