DNF @22% Boring. Couldn’t bring myself to keep reading it.

As a Colorado native I can say Garden of the Gods is beautiful and all that bs about Native American kitsch is not true. Maybe back in the 80’s and early 90’s.

I have about 8 hours left to listen to and it’s painful. I just want it to be over already. It is so BORING! It’s worse than just boring though. This one is killing my reading challenge.

In the beginning these boys are 9 years old and drinking and smoking?! They also mention they won’t be kids anymore when they turn 10? Shouldn’t they be 12 going on 13? Also getting strong anti-Christian vibes.😐

Will this book ever end?!

I thought the enormous cast of characters from the first book was hard to keep track of! Well forget all of those people for the first 40% of the book, because we have an all new (almost) ginormous cast of characters. I should have taken notes!

I’m listening to the audiobook and it doesn’t even give me a percentage. I’m at chapter 26 and still pretty annoyed at how this suddenly feels like two different stories. Two almost unrelated stories. The first one was good! Kept me engaged. Not sure how I’m liking the next half. There are a lot of new characters and I think only one is given a description. In getting really sick of wasting my audible credits

This book feels like it’s 1000 pages long! Not impressed so far.

Oh this one is painfully slow. I never liked Orlais so I had a feeling I would not like this book. “The Game” and all the back stabbing politics reminds me too much of real world politics. I hated Celine, Briala, and Gaspard while playing “Inquisition” and would have killed all 3 and given the Orlesian Empire to the Elves lol. I don’t know if I can finish this one. I truly don’t care about the story.

Love this series! Reading it to my 6 year old son.

I wish the narrator had either played any of the games or done his research. The Orlesians have a french accent, not Irish! He mispronounces Dalish, marquis (which anyone that reads for a living should know how to pronounce), and a myriad of other other things that just drive me insane. I probably should have read a paperback copy instead of audiobook.

Lol, the cover of this book is too much 😂. There was no picture for the audiobook. I guess don’t judge a book by its cover? We’ll see if that’s true...

Why did they change the narrator for the last 2 books?! It’s infuriating. Suddenly Tom and Alice don’t sound English at all.

Ugh, it’s worse than I remember. Not sure I can make it through this time. So many characters, so much irrelevant information, the constantly shifting POV, this smacks of Straub.

Giving this story another go. I didn’t like it much the first time through.
