The writing was okay, but a bit too week. The narrator did well with characters, but her overall style was over done and it got very annoying.

Can’t finish. Too annoying.

Got bored didn’t finish

There was too much repetition. The female narration was too dramatic. I was curious where the story was going, but it was taking too long and some of the relationships were very annoying. I decided to stop and return it.

I think I’ve gone as far as I can with this series. The writing just isn’t very good. The narrator isn’t right. She’s just too light and immature. It sounds ridiculous when there’s violence and gore. It just doesn’t sound sincere. I’ll be returning this one.

This is my second reading

I keep it in my "to read" list, so t can refer to it easily. It's a simple little book. It's a helpful reminder.

Madeleine L'engle has always spoken to my heart. She says those things I can relate to. Things none one else I know seems to get. I understand how difficult simple can be and how easy complicated can be. If someone had said this to me when I was a child, it may have made all the difference. "The entire multiplication table is an agreed upon fiction to make life convenient, and you will have to bear with it."
