I've been in a slump for a while now, so I thought rereading an old favorite might help. The book is still definitely as fun as I remember it, but I don't know how I haven't noticed that Caroline seems a little judgy.

How is it possible that when I proofread my review time and time again before posting everything seems fine, but then I'll randomly read it again after a month and notice a glaringly obvious typo? What sorcery is this?!?!

You have to appreciate Elara's style of murdering with words. Shuts down a discussion more efficiently than any magic spell she could use. Gotta get myself some arguing skills like that.

This conversation took a weird turn, but I'm all here for it. Also is this confirmation for Jasper's story? Cuz I'm all here for that, too.

Her plan is so idiotic that it kills every joy I get from reading. Of course a hardened war hero who fought against Napoleon is just going to blubber sensitive information to this random French girl. Why yes, her best option is to just continue following him to tea parties and balls and such. I just adore dumb heroines!!
