I've decided to vehemently ignore the fact that he has shoulder-length hair and a thick beard bc EW

Following Kit's book with Preston as a protagonist is an A+ move and I applaud the author for it

I just want to say that I'm so glad this book's ]male lead isn't Peregrin, because when I read about Catriona and him in the first book I really was put off by their relationship. And I'm glad the only reason he's ever mentioned here is in a negative way and to show how even the thought of him stresses Catriona out lol

Oof. I started this very slow, and that's on me. But damn, now that I've decided to pick up the pace I keep getting pissed at Wes and stuck. I can't believe I'm saying this but maybe just scrap the romance and make it about the fantasy, why don't we? Better no romance than a badly written one.

The way the Maxton Hall writers ATE bc the pool and car scenes in the book aren't nearly as good as the show's.

“Do it,” I egged her on. The sharp points burrowed, threatening me, and I loved the view of her like this. Taking control of me, her power painful but demanding, and I wanted her to demand anything she wanted from me right now.

No but you don't understand... Damon being proud of his soft woman taking control of him is my UNDOING. They have me on a chokehold

I really just never understood penelope's writing of Michael. If he's clearly such a shit character (as evidenced by this book and the next 2, then why make him the protagonist of the first book in this series?? Why keep shitting on him for the rest of the series while simultaneously developing Rika?? It just makes Rika appear even more stupid for having pined after him and ending up with him in the first place

It's funny because this book technically has the same premise as the first one in the whole series (powerful business psy has to work alongside changeling alpha and their pack in their territory) but this is like the bigger, better upgrade from that one lol

Kate actually hating Christopher for being a nuisance to her her entire life and that being reflected in her thoughts and actions toward him, and him giving it right back, even if underneath he is slightly attracted to her but forces it down inside him becausehe doesn't want to be... *chef's kiss*

You know, when I ask for "haters to lovers", the "haters" part? this is what I mean.

I need Jack's book so I can see more of it on his pov *hints hard at Jen Frederick to please move along with writing his book once and for all*

“Just where do you think you’re going?” she asks, with a light Wessconian accent.
I look up at her and the breath literally whooshes out of me. Because she’s the most breathtakingly beautiful woman I’ve ever seen. Half a foot taller than me, with shiny dark brown hair, onyx eyes, perfect doll-like features and pale, pristine skin.
“Huh?”
Nice recovery, Liv.

Can't believe bi Olivia is canon xD

"[...] how old do you think I am?"
“You’ll be twenty-eight on October twentieth,” Ellie replies.
Yes—she’s definitely been a busy-researching-bee.
“So,” she starts, leaning back. “What are your intentions with my sister, Prince Nicholas?”

I had forgotten how ADORABLE Ellie was. ♥️ ugh, she deserved a better book than what she had.
