Oddly enough, I'm not a huge fan of epic fantasy. However, Ms Buroker writes some really smooth, engaging prose, and I'm finding myself hooked by the story.

I am so tempted to just dump this book right now. The only thing that keeps me reading is the good reputation, but I'm finding these stories to be kind of amateurish and corny. I know they're 60 years old, but so is DUNE, and there's nothing amateurish about that.
