I'm really enjoying this book. It's a unique way to bring history alive. Real letters are followed by a brief description of what was going on in the war. It really puts things into perspective and is more interesting than simply reading a history...and helps you understand more than simply reading letters with no context.

I was lucky enough to win this in a giveaway and I'm so glad I did. I've barely started and I can already tell it's going to be a quick, interesting read. It's written with a warmth that gives away the author's love of his subject and the people and events in the book. I can't wait to continue.
