Kind of cackling at myself that I put off reading this for so long. Everyone is right: this book is THAT freaking good. Wow. Like… for REAL: wow.

What in the actual effing eff. Having gone into this unknowing of anything, I am ……. cored the motherscratching eff out.

Toni Morrison wrote the hell out of this book. Jiminy and his cricket. Whew.

Really having a hard time *not* just reading this until it’s done.

Entering the home stretch of this and … another book that cements my never doubting a few of my fave fellow readers.

Full enjoyment of this is now achieved.

I’ve already cried…

Every segment of this is beautiful in its own way.

My goodness… this book is art with words.

Ok I feel like I’m finally being more pushed by this book to read it more consistently…

This is … multiple levels of heartbreak.

Oh my gosh. I am feeling absolutely tickled by this book. So weird but I am having a really good time reading it! 🏳️‍🌈

“… at this rate, by the year 2050, the ocean will have more plastic in it than fish…”

Sad, horrifying, real, intense… this book has me a bit livid and a bit scared and very on my seat (which, ironically, is what I need to get OFF of and start looking into what I can do to help…)

Touches on a few personal things for me so this book is — it may ruin me.

“What a gift to not be weighed down by the opinions of men who will never affect my life in a positive way.”

Trying to say this without sounding like a “pick me” man, but: this exact quote and thought process is why I get a bit emotionally jazzed when I see women supporting other women. Such an important override to what I know us men can do to the mindset of women too much of the time.

I would say (similar to Monica jn Friends) “This. Just. Got. Interesting.” But, really… this has been a ride throughout.

Don’t mistake how long I’m taking with this. If I had a weekend to just do *this*, I would be done. Pacing and the trio of storylines via MC’s is immaculate.

I wish I could just sit and read and read this. I’m thoroughly enjoying this book!

“Treason to whiteness is loyalty to humanity”. This quote by Noel Ignatiev included in this book has absolutely struck an irreversible chord within me.

That last story (“Tundra Swan”) as a father, hit me in the soft places. Whew.
