Britt is starting Algospeak: How Social Media Is Transforming the Future of Language
This book is full of gems like “An early drag queen would never have called Meghan Trainor ‘mother.’” And “Ulysses would never have succeeded on TikTok.”

There’s a lot of telling, not showing. Also.. Person: Don’t do the thing. Willful Protagonist: Does the thing literally a page and a half later. *eyeroll emoji*

Two things. 1) You don't have to tell us more than once that you have more of a platform to be heard than other women because you've published eleven books. We get it. 2) Stop with the #NotAllMen apologetic asides, for real. We get it.

"One way of seeing all this was as a symptom of postmillennial decay, the degradation of public discourse, and the encroachment of celebrity worship into the arena of national affairs. Another way of looking at it was as an indication of the GOP's state of disarray. Then there was the way Trump perceived the thing: as a manifestation of his magnificence..."

Also, there was literally no point in Tall Andras AT ALL and yet I read soooo much about him. This book is going so terribly I half expect to find out everyone has a "gift" because they're Divergent and they're part of the experiments to fix people's modified genes.
