Okay, it’s been forever since I’ve read a book by this author and I truly forgot how much clever wit and humor she has in her writing. I’ve already laughed—out loud—probably a dozen times…in the first chapter! 😂😂😂 I’m loving this!

This author has been hit or miss with me, but I actually really enjoyed this one! I really liked the male protagonist and the character growth of the female lead was enjoyable as well!

Deadly Objective, by Lynn H. Blackburn

I will admit, I was a little apprehensive about this story in the collection. I read one other book by this author and just wasn’t impressed, but this shorter story blew me away. I really, really liked it and I feel that through this story, the author has made me want to try some of her other books.

On the Run, by Lynette Eason

Really enjoyed this first story in this collection. I was very excited that Eason was featuring a character from a book in one of her previous series and it did not disappoint. Also liked the narrator and how she did Daria’s accent.

An Auntie for Christmas, by Hannah Foster
My personal rating: 4/5 stars
A really cute story that pulled at my heart strings. I felt for Jasmine as she struggled to forgive her brother and seek to be content with where God has placed her in life. I really liked the Haywood family as a whole and oh! The Anne of Green Gables comment was great!!

He Is Still Emmanuel

I really liked this story and I was really happy to see a character from a previous story in this collection featured as one of the main characters. I also appreciated the reminder that God is always with us. I only have one story left and I’m going to be quite sad to say goodbye to Homewood. 🩵

Absolutely LOVED this story in the collection! Such an interesting setting with the main girl being a mechanic and I loved Magda’s love for her nieces and nephews. I thoroughly enjoyed this story! Well done, Ms. Thompson! 👏

The Gunslinger Next Door

While I liked the ending of this one, this story just didn’t catch my attention like the other ones did. Alice was a bit of a busybody in my opinion and I really wasn’t sure what I thought of her. John, either, in that regard. I ended up liking them in the end, this story just wasn’t a favorite.

Rachel’s story with her two elderly aunts was intriguing. Quite a mysterious air surrounds this young woman and I was very curious myself. I felt the story was carried along nicely with a nice, tidy little bow at the end. I also liked the male protagonist, Stephen Worth.
