Page 250 and just beginning chapter 4. Although I found the priest’s story captivating, I didn’t think I’d enjoy the ‘tales of Canterbury’ storytelling. Glad to say, I shouldn’t have been worried. Each pilgrim’s account is written with unique style and voice and I’m excited to see where they collectively lead.

Started a few months ago but I wasn’t enjoying the pacing + world building so I shelved it in exchange for Dungeon Crawler Carl for something faster while hoping to come back later. Restarted last week and glad I did. Regardless of how the rest of the book unfolds, the priest’s account will make it worth it.

Marc Buwalda is on page 22 of 400 of Nuclear War: A Scenario
Only 22 pages in and already this has to be the most tragic, most terrifying book I’ve ever read.

Marc Buwalda is on page 550 of 960 of Lonesome Dove (Lonesome Dove, #1)
I picked this up on the rec of a few friends as I was looking for my next read after a Cormac McCarthy binge a few months ago. It took 200 pages for the plot to get out of the gate but I’m glad I stuck w it as things are moving now & character development is paying off. As the story revolves around multiple archetype characters, I’m looking forward to seeing who might break their mold as things begin to wrap up

He looked at the map…there were roads and rivers and towns on the American side of the map as far south as the Rio Grande and beyond that all was white.
It don’t show nothin down there, does it? said Rawlings.
No.
