We have been devouring books by Mac Barnett the last few weeks and have yet to find one that does not make us laugh and love. We have also yet to have found one that the kids did not want to reread. Checked out this book not realizing it was written by Mac Barnett-how timely!!
2 pages in and I think I’ll need to own this one.

My 6.5 year old is reading this book aloud to me. I’m impressed with the introduction to new words and keeping the story interesting while still at a “2nd grade” reading level. 👏

Please let me know of a book that completely shocked you with a twist or ending. I haven’t been surprised by a book since I read Nightingale in 2020.
