Not reading it for the story—which is dark as the heavens. It’s long lost in the nano particles of radiating subplots and boundless technical detail.

I’m changing this from reading to want to read because I had to bail on the audiobook on account of the narration. To my ears it was both one-note—strident, with a fast tempo screech to carry it. I wasn’t that taken with the book but want to give it another try with an eyeball read.

Taking a little break from my crime fiction spree, I started this Goodreads stars-as-far-as-you-can-see lighthearted story. Everyone says even if you’re not a romance reader it will charm you. Perfect. But so far, a mounting pile of tangled angsty boozy melodrama manufactured for flat cliche characters in perfectly stock settings. Please get better, book.
