Americans being mad at authors for writing the books they want to write are also the ones mad about books being banned. Both are equally bad. If you don't like what someone is writing, don't read it. But just because you don't like it doesn't mean it shouldn't be written or even published. People have been writing (and profiting) off of problematic topics and in harmful ways for literally forever.
