DNF -too dark

DNF ~ didn’t like the characters,

DNF ~ couldn’t get through it. My suspension of disbelief just wasn’t there for the story.

Call me weird but I like the fancy overlay when I read my historical romances. It’s too real - the dirty, nitty gritty underbelly of the mill is too much for me to handle right now. I will eventually get around to it I think, now that I know what to expect.

Very dense with accurate history and I love that but it’s a book that needs more attention than I can give it right now so it will remain on my shelf until I can revisit. I don’t want to mark it as DNF quite yet.

DNF on this one - perhaps I’ll come around to it later but it didn’t grab me like her books usually do.

This one is a meh for me. I LOVE TL Swan- A LOT. But this one is a no for me - I can’t relate to the pregnancy part, I don’t like the make protagonist and I found it too much for my suspension of disbelief to overcome when she watched her boss get ready every am from being naked. It’s just not realistic for me - maybe one time it happened but every day? Nah. This one is a DNF for me. Still love Swan so much!

So far one of the best Sylvia Day books ever and I’m not even to the spicy part yet.

Took a bit to get going but it’s going! So far so good

So far the book is good and the characters, though they feel familiar, are well developed. I haven’t finished yet because I can’t get past the POV of the protagonist(?) Lily. She speaks as if she’s writing to Kane and I find it so off putting that it’s ruining my experience with the rest of the book. It may all come clear why she is speaking to Kane but for now about 3/4 of the way in it’s just bizarre.

This book was super hyped so I had high expectations for it. You know what that means…

but I’m more like Aggie (sister of protagonist) than Jess (the protagonist) so Jess’s relationship with Tim and how she deals with Guy gives me extreme anxiety. So far it’s a cute book if not mind blowing and I’ll finish soon.

It’s ok. Not terrible, cute characters who are believable and I’m rooting for them I just feel like it’s dragging.

Does anyone else not log the steamy bodice rippers they read for guilty pleasure? I’ve read triple the amount of books listed I just don’t log them!

Had to stop reading this one. I didn’t get into it.

I could not get into this. I know lots of people gVe it a high rating but I was just dreading it. So I gabe up.

So far, I like this book for the reason that the protagonist is completely unreliable based on her psychopathy. It’s a new and different from the typical drunk or otherwise addicted unreliable nature of most psychological thriller protagonists. I’m about half way done and it’s keeping my interest. It’s hard to predict where this will end up and I like that!

Love this book and this series. This is the 3rd time I’ve read this book. Will be sad when it’s done. I feel like I know Jamie and Claire.
