Enjoying so far. Very dystopian. I had to look at the publication date after I started and nope, it was written about a decade before 2020. The first chapter grabs you.

I’m not sure where this story is headed, but I’m enjoying it fully. The characters have become more interesting as we move on. The 15th century story is very interesting as is the present day story. The story I find most interesting is the future story. Very interesting.

So far, loving this one. I haven’t warmed up to the characters as I had hoped though. But fascinating! I love when stories weave three time periods that have some connection.

I’m starting to get into the groove of this tale. It still has a very ethereal quality that I like. There are parts of the story that feel in a fog at this point but I’m sure that’s intentional as the author is an excellent writer.

I just started reading this one this morning. It has a dreamlike quality to the prose. It touches on inequality and pain but with a velvet glove.

Great fleshing out of Aunt Lydia’s story. Also having the story from three different perspectives of women in different stations is brilliant.

So far Aunt Lydia is the only character I recognize, though I have my suspicions about one other. It’s definitively an interesting way to go at it. I have the feeling this will be a much different read than the prequel.

This was much more internal than I recalled. I’m glad I’m reading it before the sequel. While it is akin to the show, the reading is different. It usually is.

I am reading an electronic version so I have no idea what page I am on. I just wanted to say that I had forgotten how delightfully this novel was written. Yes, we all know that Atwood is a rock star, but I had forgotten how really well written this was. I’m glad I decided to reread this before reading the sequel. I need to have this in my head and not the tv series when I read the sequel.

Going to give this one a quick reread before reading the sequel. I don’t want to have the tv show in my head while reading the sequel. I originally read this too long ago.

This book is heating up now. This would make an excellent movie or limited series. I say this confidentially before I have even finished it.

I wasn’t sure I wanted to read something this dark right now but am so glad I decided to read this book. It is fascinating this true tale of the FBI’s first big case. The history of how Indians were treated is heartbreaking. The author did the research and I am really enjoying his way of telling this story!

The rhythm is still off for me but it’s getting batter. It’s very interesting being behind the scenes in these stories we’ve all heard of. I’m reading this because I have a great grandfather by the name of Throckmorton that was there in the mix at the Tudor court.
