I just read a quote in this book from the person who supposedly helped Nureyev buy his apartment in Paris in 1980. They claim he liked the apartment because it was a few blocks from the d’Orsay Musee. But the d’Orsay didn’t open until 1986. They didn’t even start designing the interior until 1981.

I'm enjoying this book, but not really in the mood to read a memoir right now. I want to read holiday books - so I'm going to go ahead and set this aside after reading five chapters. Also, my library has the audio version of this, which is read by Michelle Obama and I think I'd enjoy that more than reading this. I will return to this book eventually.

I started listening to this during a long road trip. While I find the historical story interesting, I absolutely hate the modern day story line, and despise the main character. I find the way the author writes about a women considering an abortion to be offensive - "how many other women had babies scraped out of their wombs?" WTF? If I even finish this book, it's only because I'm behind on my reading challenge.

Nearly wrecked my car on the drive home, this book is so much hotter than I expected it to be. Might have forgotten to breathe for a while there.

I've been reading this book for weeks, 40% in and nothing has happened yet. I'd give up on it, but have already put so much time into it. I usually love everything by this author. May not be in the right place mentally for this book.
