Well, it’s 10:38pm on New Year’s Eve so I am definitely too tired to post the last 10 reviews for my 2022 reads. Maybe tomorrow. Might also be changing my profile pic. Thinking about it. Have had the same pic for the 13 years I’ve been on GR. Change is hard.

I am determined to post the rest (at least 12) of my 2022 books before the end of the year.

Been doing some housecleaning on my GR pages. It’s disconcerting to see that far too many books for which I *know* I did reviews are now sans reviews. What gives? It kind of makes me less interested in posting which is why I am now 3.5 months behind in logging my reads. Seems every time GR gives itself a new ‘facelift’ it just screws things up. I fear the upcoming revamp.

One of the lousy things about retiring from the library is no longer having ready access to the book review journals and jobber catalogs. I miss seeing all the new titles coming out. I must say, though, that in the months prior to retirement I had noticed fewer and fewer really intersting (to me) titles showing up. Wonder if the heyday of my type of book has passed.

Missed entering a bunch of books from last summer- playing catch-up.

Loving this but it is rather frightening/depressing how much we've lost of true darkness and the havoc it is causing to our health and to nature in general.

Making corrections all over the place. Sometimes things don't "take" when I'm using my iPad like the rating stars. Maybe my fingers are too fat or my "aim" is off. Frustrating.

Playing catch-up on reviews I missed posting. Good thing I still keep a paper reading journal.

What gives?? I have recently won TWO Books in First Reads giveaways - my first wins since 2010. Now to find time to read them.

So- I dropped off the grid for about 6 months. Family issues. Hope to start catching up with reviews/posts about books read since last October. Thank goodness I still keep a paper journal or all that reading would be lost as I have no memory these days. Gone with the wind.

Been in one of my computer-phobic moods again so I haven't updated my reading for over a month. Maybe I'll catch up soon....

After being missing for over 7 months, Abby- the kitty in my profile picture has turned up again! She's very wary but appears in good shape. Has she been two-timing us with another family?? We hope to convince her to come back inside but it will take time. Thank goodness it was a mild winter.

I'm never going to finish this in time for Tuesday's f2f discussion- and I'M leading it!!

Discovered I had never entered much of my 2004 reading journal entries so I'm starting to plug those in to complete past history of books recorded. After that I'm planning to track down books I read before starting to journal so I can try to review by skimming or rereading enough to remember what I thought about them.

Finally doing more than looking at the awesome pictures.

need to finish for F2F on Tuesday! Not quite as horrible as I feared. Disliked the movie except for Naveen Andrews

Gave up on this- read first 2 chapters & part of the chapter on Beauty & the Beast tales but it was too scholarly & dry for me right now. Back to the library it goes...

On disc 3. Liking this- more action than first book. Don't care much for the male reader- too whispery a voice for my picture of Kai. Female reader is OK.

Why do I bother entering the giveaways? Have not won one in the past 14 months and I enter several a week. I think they only award them to newbies. I won 3 in the first few months on Goodreads. Grumble, grumble....
