The annoyingly hyperbolic language aside, there are some deeply wrong claims in this book: in page 72 the author claims Gregory XI is the first pope to set foot in Rome since the beginning of Avignon Papacy, completely dismissing Urban V who went back to rome 11 years earlier. The claim in Page 79 that the Western Schism was the greatest crisis in the history of the Church to that point is also quite shocking!
