So, I was just looking at my bookshelf and my eyes landed on the spine of this book. I took it off the shelf, opened it up and started reading. I just completed Part 1 and I am in love with this book. I have tabbed so many pages and underlined so many passages. I just love the tone and vibe of this story and the character interactions feel so genuine and heartwarming.

The Hunger Games film is really SPOT ON, it's insane. Obviously a few changes here and there and cut scenes, different dialogue. However, once we are actually IN the games, the film and the book are near-IDENTICAL! At least up until this current point, the mutts are wildly different (much more horrific and disturbing) in the book than they are in the film.

The way these books just FLY BY! It's literally so crazy. I may honestly finish this book tonight, although I'm going to take a little break right now. If not tonight, I'll definitely finish it tomorrow

Starting a re-read! Already upset, already hurting

Really did NOT want to take a break, but I desperately needed sustenance. What else can I say about this book??? It's impossible to put down, it's evil, it's stressful, it's tragic. It's amazing! I am so scared to see how it ends. This arena is relentless

This is EVIL!!!!!!! I am already so angry and heartbroken. I had to take a break after page 75 (because EXCUSE YOU!?!??!!!) And, NOW, after Chapter 10, I need another break because WTF!?!?!!?!?!!?!? I am genuinely terrified to see how the rest of this plays out. It is absolutely incredible so far and I'm very excited to re-read the original trilogy after finishing this.

Theon’s pissing me off! Such an idiot!!!!!! Also, was not expecting scary shadow demon birth or whatever, disturbing. Watching the show as I go along, interesting to see how that scene plays out

welp... one more sudden death that had me frozen in shock at work today. I am more upset about it than I expected; I think I just wanted to know the character more and expected to GET to know him. Alas, he did not have a larger role

I'm : STRESSED. Tensions are so high and all that's happening is people are talking to each other... or getting captured/forced into scenarios that just don't seem to go well in any way, shape, or form. But I am loving this! Tyrion is crazy, stressing me out so much. Poor Arya (that's all), Theon's stupid and annoying. FINALLY met Brienne(?) of Tarth and Marjorie. Cersei's still a disgusting b word!!!! hate her

...i cried... but i'm okay now... until i won't be again... this book is SO GOOD

Halfway! And this is still my favorite by far! I love this book so much, it's so very dark and upsetting and scary, but also mixes in comedy and touching/heartwarming moments...... which I know won't last...... but I'm loving it still

I had forgotten a LOT of the beginning of this book, but so far…… still my favorite! So good, so dark, so emotional! And I know it just gets worse, I CAN’T WAIT

Goblet of Fire all over again! I'm loving this SO MUCH MORE than I did on 1st read through, tho something's still missing for me that I can't quite place; I think it's a case where the movie is better than the book imo. But it's definitely still really good, on par with Order of the Phoenix; where that book spent SO much time on things (miserable, infuriating things) this one doesn't spend ENOUGH time on things imo

We're in the good part now! This last 120 pages is SO good, but I forget just how short it actually is... and how unbearably idiotic Harry has been in order for us to get here

this book is seriously SO irritating... yes, I like it, but I am worried it might not be my favorite in the series anymore. I mean, the third act might change my mind back. We'll see. The end of this book goes CRAZY from what I remember. Book 4 was just SO GOOD
