I wanted more magical realism. The book was ok, but a little slow.

It is like watching linoleum peel while listening to some hoity faloity guy wax on about himself. Where is the turmoil, the drama, the excitement? I ma nearly halfway in and if it takes this many pages to (still not be) interesting.....it goes in the nope pile.

Very engaging, a page turner. The human experience is just that, so her voice is not overpowering others or speaking from a white point of view or what have you...if you've lived in our broken world, you can tell is stories.
