Well I like it so far. But it's throwing me for a loop since this is set before the last few books.

I had a hard time getting into this book but around chapter 5, I really was drawn in. In the beginning, I felt lost and like maybe this was a spin off of another series. However, if you stick it out, it'll make sense. There is quite a lot of language in this book and I find myself a tad annoyed with the overuse of "alphahole".
