This book has a fairytale quality to it that I really like. I love the imagery that I get in my head from the description and worldbuilding. It makes me want to paint.

Things has always been complicated in this book but here's to figuring out how it all ends.

So far so good.

So far, catty old women, awesome backstory, layered characters, beautiful words strung into gorgeous sentences, great lyrical writing style, tragic but nothing melodramatic. Beautiful pacing, I find there is a silent undertone to the writing that I find really beautiful.

Also, bad parenting all around.

Interesting.

The dialogue is still cheesy and the author is in danger of making the main character too clever.

Should have better proofreading. There are a lot of repetition so far.

Oh God, Eleanor is so aweaome and funny. I hope nothing bad will happen to her.

Loving it so far. Rich in images. Reminds me of Miyazaki's Howl's Castle. I love both of the main characters but I love Eleanor more, she's such a hoot.

You go into a new town where your assassin outfit would stand out, knowing people will be looking for you?
What's the first thing you should do? Find clothes to blend in! Not go out willy nilly with your leather outfit and mask. Then find a bolt hole to rest and hide. Not a stupid boat near a murder victim that you didn't kill but, hey, let's leave evidence for people to think you did. Dumbass.

The main character kinda bugs me. Sure she's a woman in love etc, but she's also an assassin from a family assassins whose mother occasionally poisons her as a test. She should know better.

Then she's dismissive of other people's beliefs, she self-entitled and does the dumbest things at times.

Mind you, a main character doesn't have to be likable but I'm hoping for a chance of growth.

Creepy book is creepy. Am enjoying the slow build up

Really Toby? Not even a day past and you're getting ready to kill yourself again. Being a hero is good and well but can we at least have a plan? UGH.

I was hoping for more reveals of Ella's character before she got stupid over a boy. *sigh*
