I wanted to read this book after listening to The Diary of a CEO podcast and hearing Andrew and Jihi Bustamante’s story.

This is a tough read due to all the hardships the kid went through. I think it is necessary to see what “family vlogging” can do in the way of harm to children. I support Sheri’s efforts to hav stricter rules in place for these types of exploration of children.

A wonderful story about the perseverance of a previous slave woman who moved to NOLA to continue her work as an undertakers assistant while the odds are stacked against her ( an unmarried black woman in a male/dominated field). Of course it has some romance thrown in too. Can’t wait to see how it ends!!

Amazing read about a young, black woman post Civil War who escaped slavery by being adopted by a battlefield surgeon and learned from him at just 7 years old. If you like historical fiction and medical drama- this is for you!! Quick read and can’t wait to see how it concludes!

Great read if you like medical, post Civil War history. The fact that this woman, at 7, escaped salvaged y by being adopted by a field surgeon during the war and learned all her medical knowledge studying his ever move is incredible. To read about a strong black woman who has overcome so many challenges and is amazing at what she does is phenomenal. I started the book yesterday and couldn’t stop reading it!!
