This book has been so boring with barely any depth to the characters. The reviews were so good so I’ve kept reading but couldn’t get past all the “I’m praying for you” and lack of depth. Well I did some digging only to find out the entire title for this book is “Out of the Ashes: CHRISTIAN romantic suspense”….fuck me I’m out lol DNF. Put that on the cover so I don’t waste my time plz.

This book did NOT need to be over 700 pages. I’m losing my mind but I’m gonna finish.

Oh my GOD this is DRAGGING. It’s almost painful but I’m so far in. The main character has turned into such a “pick me” girl UGH 🤦🏼‍♀️🙄

Alright at first I didn’t get the negative reviews. Loved the main character, the story, the action, and the banter between characters. But this far in I’m close to giving up…it’s starting to become extremely repetitive and a tad boring. Also the banter became too much and too unrealistic and Sophie just annoys me now…I’ll try to finish but we shall see!

Boy, do I love Laura Griffin. She always has the right amount of everything- romance, thrill, mystery, etc. So far, my thoughts are that:
1) I love the main heroine. She's independent and decisive. Also obsessed with her best friend.
2) The hero? Grant? Not so sure. He seems flakey.
3) I feel like I can guess who the killer might be, and I hope it's not that obvious and that I'm wrong.

Hmmmm not sure how I feel so far. I don't think I like Pippa. We shall see!
