This is my first time reading a Fantasy book involving magic and swords and sorcery stuff aside from JRR Tolkien 's THE HOBBIT and THE LORD OF THE RINGS so I am pleasantly surprised by how much I am enjoying it.

Fast paced adventure with well developed characters that you care about.

I haven't read Bentley Little in several years and I had forgotten how brutal and graphic his writing is.

My copy of THE LAST DANGEROUS VISIONS arrived on my Kindle at midnight last night and I quickly went to Dan Simmons's contribution "The Final Pogrom". It is a short piece of fiction that nonetheless delivers a powerful punch to the gut.

It seems that the story was written in the mid-1980s, not very long after Simmons met Harlan Ellison. That being said, it certainly holds up well and not the least bit dated.

Just finished the first story in this collection and it was a doozy. I don't usually read short story collections but once in a while they can be fun.

I just read the first story in IF IT BLEEDS, "Mr. Harrigan's Phone". I had already seen the movie on Netflix, but as always, the story was much better. Only one story left to go…

I finished the final story in this collection of four novelas, "Rat" a few minutes ago. It had me from the beginning and didn't let up even at the bitter end.
