Feel nostalgia for my small hometown, check.
Experience dismay and horror and heartache, check.
Accidentally slurp coffee gone cold, check.
All before I've pulled on my work boots and started my day.

If this book continues at this pace, I'm going to be a wrung out mess by the time it concludes. Excellent beginning to a new read.

I resent the real world so very much right now, for interfering with my reading of this book.

I rarely comment before finishing a book, but this one is sucking me in! I'm only in the prologue and I'm already connecting and feeling emotions for this character. Writing style is flawless. Very excited about this read.

This is the first book I've read, in weeks, that I'm truly enjoying. It's making me smile, laugh, empathize with the characters. Characters, who, by the way, are complex and creative and have depth and flaws. Book is available free to Amazon prime members right now. Very happy I was scrolling through the freebies and found a good one.

Couldn't get involved. Dnf.

I'm struggling. I'm frustrated. I've wanted to read this for some time, but now it's So.Freaking.Difficult to get immersed in this storing. It doesn't flow, feels kinda disjointed. Debating whether to hang in there or put my retinas to use on a more worthy tome.

Debut novel? So far this reads like the work of a seasoned author. Finding myself resenting things like work, exercise and any other things taking me away from my reading time.

Very good so far. I still haven't decided if our main character is a hero or a villain...I like that.

I'll be honest in saying I got bored by this book. I just lost interest and couldn't finish. It was the audiobook though, and truthfully the narrator is annoying with the voices she uses. In the future I may give it a try in printed version to see if I like it better.
