Magdalena is starting A Demon's Heart (Vice College for Young Demons #4)
I didn’t like this book as much as the 1st 3. All the experienced battle-tested characters seemed to have lost any intelligence or ability to form good strategies, seemed unable to anticipate the enemy’s actions. I kept rolling my eyes thinking “come on, they should have known that would happen”. Several times, I saw a better way to handle a situation, but those options never occurred to the characters.

Magdalena is starting Kings of Linwood Academy - The Complete Box Set (Kings of Linwood Academy, #1-3)
I’m finding some of the reasons for decisions the characters make, as well as the steps, or lack of them, in the police investigation, to be nonsensical and not based in how things would happen in reality. Other than, that, I’m enjoying the book.

Magdalena is starting Insatiable Corruption (Tritan Evolution #2)
I have to say, it was really frustrating that the author made the main character screwup over and over. I was looking for a stronger female heroine, instead there was an idiot making the same mistakes. It was hard at one point to stick with the book.

Magdalena is starting Steelheart (The Reckoners, #1)
I loved the entire Mistborn series but this book is just OK and I won’t be reading anymore of this series. I just didn’t enjoy the teenage boy POV. I found his immature inner dialogue annoying.

Magdalena is starting On Dangerous Ground (Sean Dillon #3)
I’m nearing the end of the book, but I had to make a note because I’m getting irritated that the men are always the smart, crafty resourceful ones and the women, even a detective superintendent, are ditzy and can’t seem to think ahead and keep their wits about them in a dangerous situation.

This may have been an important book for its time but I had a hard time getting through it. It was boring.

Magdalena is starting Lover Uncloaked (Stealth Guardians, #1)
I’m just at the beginning chapters but I’m already noticing awkwardly over-explained sentences and paragraphs, also a lack of understanding about pharmaceutical research. A researcher who cares about curing a disease would not destroy data rather than have it fall into someone else’s hands who could also create the cure. After all, the cure is the ultimate goal.

Magdalena is starting The Lunar Secret (The Ayla St. John Chronicles #3)
Chapter 1 made me want to stop reading. Ayla came across as flaky, inconsiderate and annoying. I couldn't remember why I gave the previous 2 books in this series 4 out of 5. Unfortunately , I guess I'm now too invested to stop. But really, CJ Pinard, what gives with the annoying crazy girl? If I'd been Kellan, I would have left her at the side of the road.

Magdalena is starting Stoking the Flames: 13 Tales of Dragons, Destiny and Desire
A lot of the stories in this book are poorly written. The conversation is either juvenile, or very stilted and unnatural. I can't believe this kind of stuff gets published.

Magdalena is starting Soul Symmetry (Raven, #3)
Also, constantly doing the same thing over and over, such as sneaking out of the house and leaving behind your bodyguard, and expecting a different result, such as the shit not hitting the fan, is the very definition of stupidity. I don't really like my heroine to be stupid.

Magdalena is starting Soul Symmetry (Raven, #3)
The book is feeling really drawn out. It's a little boring how the main character and everyone around her keeps telling her how she has to solve the problem and she keeps thinking about how she has to do it but doesn't know how. The book would be more interesting with moving this line of the story along and adding some other plot twists.

Magdalena is starting White Raven (Raven, #1)
The author misuses the word envious in her sentences, at least three times so far. Grammatical errors like these are annoying and I can't believe that the editors missed them.

Magdalena is starting Purpose (Soul Savers, #2)
I'm not enjoying this book as much as the previous one. Some parts of the book really exaggerate and go on and on explaining Alexis' thought process about her love and how tortured she is. I felt like skipping pages because pages later she was still going on about the same thing. And then the scenes where love overcomes and God prevails just seem a little too much and overly cheesy.

I'm not finished reading this yet, but just had to ask: what's with the gratuitous, randomly inserted sex scene in the middle of the book that really comes out of nowhere and doesn't add anything to the story?

Magdalena is starting Woman with a Secret (Spilling CID, #9)
It's a bit sad that so many of the couples in this book cheat on their spouses. Is this really the author's worldview?

I got very frustrated with the weak female lead. I don't think I'll be reading this author again.
