Is this rage bait? It has to be. It takes me a lot to be mad at a character & I’m livid. I’m trying so hard to understand… make it make sense! You almost lost him so many times.. why are we wasting more time if it’s always going to be him! Why are we not telling him that you’re not married anymore? So he can move on just in time for you to show up again realizing you f’d up AGAIN! When do you learn?!

Whyyyy?! Tell me why after wasting 10 years of timing always being wrong w/ most of that being your own fault & you finally realize that it’s always going to be that person & the timing is finally right & they’re still in love w/ you do you decide to sit & write a book to express your love to them anticipating they’ll read it in 2 YEARS if they read it all instead of dropping everything to go get them! 😡

B is really infuriating me. At this point, she deserves to not get the guy. 😤

By chapter 2 I was hooked. At only 16% in my heart is already in a vice grip and this book has me in a chokehold. I have a feeling I am in for a very bumpy ride. 🥺

While this may not be the best written story I’ve ever read, I’m 1000% hooked and I already know that this series is going to ruin me.

My first thoughts about this book are why are not more people talking about it. I was hooked from the first page and the chemistry is already steaming straight off the page. The writing is fantastic and the storyline is enthralling. The immersive read with the playlist makes it that much better. Pumped to read more and anxious to know when book 2 is being released.

I have not been able to stop reading to articulate thoughts. This is the first book in a decade that has me staying up past sunrise on a work night because I need to keep flipping pages.

Gaahhhh. This BOOK! I cannot put it down!

About to start chapter 10. For initial feelings are that this book is special. Poetic in its descriptive detail. Volatile in the most horrific and way it highlights how cruel mankind can be. And real. So very real the way it portrays the human emotion in all its flawed glory. I cannot wait to read more. I literally cannot put it down.

Just finished the first chapter and this book already has me in a chokehold. This is going to be a very wildly intoxicated ride, I can already tell. I better hold on for dear life and hope this book doesn’t put me in my knees. Altho, masochist that i am, i kinda hope it does.

15 chapters in and my attention has been re-engaged. I’m enjoying book 2 much more so far. Hopefully things keep going in this direction!

The book caught my attention immediately after starting it, but I’ve since become bored. I’m not sure if I’ve just got too high of an expectation based on everything I’ve heard about this series or if it’s a book 1 acotar situation and it will get better. I’m hoping for the latter.

Amber V. Nicole is an intimacy master! It’s one thing to write characters and develop them, to write a connection between characters, but to be able to create a connection with physical intimacy like she does is talent. Her intimate scenes alone are perfection. I am obsessed with her writing style.

I am soo hooked. Obsessed is maybe a better word for how much I’m enjoying this book so far.

As if I didn’t think this series to break my heart any more than it already has.. I get to start this one with a dedication that begins “This book is dedicated to the stars. In light of that we asked Gabriel Nox to write you a prophecy about this book. Paiiiiiiiin, immense, unimaginable paiiiiiin lies in your future if you continue reading”.

I am OBSESSED!! For someone who loves to immersive read and has been creating playlists for stories I love for well over a decade, reading this book while listening to the chapter by chapter playlist created by the author is unmatched. This is such a fantastic ride!

Things are getting pretty crazy and I’m 100% invested. I have to seriously give Taryn a round of applause. For a debut novel, I’m seriously impressed. The writing quality is fantastic, the world building is well developed, and while there are some typical tropes so far, the overall story is very unique and a fun ride thus far. Excited to keep going.

Chapter 1 complete and I am already hooked and quite impressed with the quality of writing for a debut novel 👏🏼👏🏼 I am really excited to see what is in store for me in the rest of this book.

Already obsessed with this book. One page was all it took. The writing is captivating as is the story so far. I want to climb inside the pages and get lost.

I absolutely love Karina Halle’s books and I was looking for a summer read involving pirates so naturally this book was at the top of my list. But I have struggled all the way through this book. I’m trying so hard to finish it, but I can’t do it any more. I’m DNFing it.

This series just keeps getting better with each page turned.

My heart can’t take it. This book has me in knots.

Is this an original story? Not at all. I am already picking up on bits of and pieces of multiple book series I’ve read. It seems to be a story inspired by a bunch of others. Am I enjoying it so far? Every. Single. Second.
