51% and and Painter asked for paint. I was really afraid it would take most of the book before he did. Hallelujah

Interesting so far. The narrator interjections are obnoxious, break immersion and don't fit the tone at all.

Not sure how I feel about this book so far. I was very interested early on but somehow, not that far in the book my interest has cooled. Hoping it picks up again and grabs me.

I continue to both enjoy this book a lot and feel like it drags on. There's just so many little gems that absolutely crack me up in between Luc hating himself incessantly.

I have had this on hold from the library for so long I don't actually remember why I picked it other than it being on a goodreads lgbtq list months ago.

So far I am definitely entertained, but also it seems long for what the content has been so far. There have been a couple shoe-horned in moments forcing the characters together but it hasn't been egregious.

Guessing that percent, because apparently all of Leigh Bardugo's kindle books display the wrong read percentage and I am clearly at the end and not 75%.

I like Kaz more and more as I Read and honestly I'm a little surprised he turned out to be my favorite character by far. He is so well developed and his back story was not the cringe fest I was expecting early on.

This book is MUCH better than the Shadow and Bone series as far as writing and character development and, for the most part, suspension of disbelief that characters that don't exceed the ripe old age of 18 behave.

I am having some difficulty accepting that Kaz, at 17, is managing a gand, set up a rent racket, is highly skilled at scheming, etc. But I appreciate the nuanced relationship he has with Inez so far.

I would like to know
1. Why is it that I can't remember anything I've read in the last 5 years? This book was published in 2017. I've read at least SOME of it. Why don't I remember until listening?

2. Where is this missing chunk of my library reading history. Because there appears that while I wasn't devouring books in the 2015-2020 era, I did actually read SOME. IT's not in the library history or in hoopla.

I got inspired to read something outside of my wheelhouse earlier this year when all the banned books posts were getting more views than usual. I forget what sparked it this time but it was Gender Queer or the kids book about everyone has a butt, because people are fucking stupid. So I googled banned books and marked this one because my library had the audiobook, and am finally reading it. And I'm fucking depressed.

A bit over 2 chapters left, so guessing about 85%.

I still have a couple chapters left, and Alina is still a virgin, so curious if there's going to be some sort of pregnancy solution to the plot. But probably Alina is just going to deus ex machina the darkling in the end. I just hope Nikolai survives. Maybe there will be volcra babies.

Whelp, this is another book I apparently already read. Unlike Warbreaker, I realized far sooner that I had actually finished it, not just dnf'd it for some reason. PRETTY sure I didn't read the others in the series though.

A bit over halfway. This one is ok so far I guess. I am completely unsurprised that Bagrah is is Morozova's kid, I was half thinking that she was Morozova herself for a while. But if Alina is a descendent of Morozova as well, the whole "ew I don't CARE how many generations its been incest!" thoughts are kind of silly. After something like 6 we are all related the same amount ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The DRAWBACK of listening instead of actively reading is that I am not paying as close attention to all the history flashback scenes. But my patience ship sailed with book 2 as to the awful narration style so I will live with missed details.

Also, at a third of the way into the finale, I'd like to stop piddling around with atmosphere and get to actually resolving the plot.

Found a library that currently had it available, somehow. Gonna try to read the next 25% over the next few weeks and another one of my many holds comes through.

Also found out this series is 10 books long. May not pursue it after this one, I'm not particularly enamored of any characters so far.

I started this earlier in the year and then took a step back to read a few library books, which claim 3 month holds and then all come through 3 weeks later at the same time. I had a temporary lull yesterday, before 2 more books magically came through their holds, so I finished the chapter I left off on.

About a quarter of the way through. I am on an endless series of digital holds at the library so I can may be finish his in the next 2-3 months. Reading with Kindle kind of masks just how long books are, and I couldn't figure out why this was going so slow, turns out it is 650 pages. Well then.

About 15% of the way in I was wondering if I had actually read the entire book already, and about 35% of the way in I knew I had. And sure enough, it was listed here in goodreads. I vaguely remember what lightsong does at the end. I will finish the read, it goes pretty quick as an audiobook and I don't need to dedicate strict reading time to it.

This book is a real f'ing slog. Could some PLEASE HAPPEN ALREADY what a waste of time. I sure hope that the last book actually progresses the plot because all I've gotten so far is a single line introducing and then right back to molasses character development

So at 40% of the book I have finally encountered the plot.

Look, I know book 2s are usually kind of lackluster, but I'm almost halfway through this one.

I HATE WITH A PASSION present tense second person narrative. Thank GOD only one character uses this tense. It takes me right out of the story. Otherwise I am enjoying it so far and look forward to sorting out the timelines to figure out when everything happened, if any of these viewpoints are actually the same character, etc. Because I dont particularly like any of the characters yet

This must be one of the longest 400 page books i've ever read. I've already renewed it from the library once, because I ended up having multiple holds come in at once, can't renew it again andn would have to wait for weeks to finish, and now I've been reading it almost exclusively for almost 2 weeks and it just doesn't fucking end. How can something so fluffy be so damned slow.
