It seems I am growing rather fond of T. Kingfishers' books. This has a really good start.

I love RF Kuang, but because of her absolutley lovely style I am also scared for what will come in the next pages. So, let's see.

I love listening to this one, the second time is eye opening, but only because I missed aome things the first time. Love the Stoics, by the way. If only we could live acording to them.

Action packed as always. Something happens all the time. Actually it's a bit overwhelming, haha. And there are more books to go!

Another day, another Dramione fanfiction. After the absolute car-crash-with-multple-casualties that Manacled was, and the almost 3 day hangover, bookslump and couchrot that followed, this is a very welcome reprive. Up until now it is funny to the point of snorting (I usually don't react even if it's funny). So I AM enjoying this. Who would have thought.

I have not read the books and not seen the films, only snippets because I always found the characters anoying, and the hype too much. I was to old, maybe. And then the controversy with JKR... so it's a no. But a enemies to lovers with Handmaid's Tale vibes story, I'm sold. Also heard it's really good writing.

So, I picked this up without reading the first one, but it's ok. Cosy mouthwatering read.

Could this be purple prose? It didn't bother me with "This is How You Lose the Time War", and it does not bother me here most of the time, but coupled with the second person narration, it's gratting sometimes. Well, what can I say, the story is very visceral, if it's nothing else, and maybe tough to swallow at times because it's very immersive.

Booktok made me do it, and it slaps. So much for elevated vocabulary, this first half got me so good that I literally was glued to it for about 4-5 hours. No mercy from ML Wang.

Aceste cărți sunt superbe pt copii si adulți. Ne distrăm maxim când le citim. Traducerea e foarte ok și abia aștept să vad ce fac Sughiț/Hâc, Labedepește, Știrb etc

Oh. My...
I felt it to the bone, and I not even halfway.
"To begin with, always to be doing work that one did not wish to do, and to do it like a slave, flattering and fawning, not always necessarily perhaps, but it seemed necessary and the stakes were too great to run risks; and then the thought of that one gift which it was death to hide—a small one but dear to the possessor—perishing and with it myself, my soul..

It was a bad idea to read THIS during the reading slump that My Dark Vanessa put me in. The struggle is real. I am disgusted and fascinated at the same time, it's like you can't not watch a car crash site you know is gory. Very disturbing.

I have this in print and audiobook, and while listening to the audio I find myself compelled to stop it and research further about the intricate relationships there. It's very rich and juicy, haha, not bland like highschool history books. I must admit, I am more of the "dreaming scientist" type, so I actually hated modern history in school and only discovered that it could be interesting when I was 20-something.

Why? Why is a book about a 20-something vampire woman so relatable?

"Whenever there is something planned in my life—either meeting a friend, going on a school or uni trip, going for a walk, or, like today, starting an internship—when it actually comes to the day I have to go through with the plan, it goes from being something I’m excited about to something I dread."

You can tell it's not Cixin Liu and it does read as fanfiction, in a sort of neutral way, so I will put this on hold until I finish some of the other books on my reading list.

Ok, this one is soooo long that I think I won't finish it this year. Also it is so so slow. But it's not a lost cause, the story has a lot of potential (and I kinda read some spoilers last year, so I know it will be good, but they didn't say if it's in the last 100 pages, I hope it's not, I have some 1000 pages to go).

Infodumping (I can't believe this still happens in book 4 or 5, which is it), it's also very slow. But I am very invested in this series, so here we go.

Very amusing. Indeed a mixture of Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy and Murderbot, but the banter is not on the level of these two. The upside is the audio narration and also one of the main characters is a cat that talks (like I always imagined cats would), and it's also an easy read. What is a bit concerning is that there are a gazzillion books in the series and I very much dislike the fact.

Training for a marathon and the stuggle is real. You can train the legs, but mental resiliency is another story, so I take every advice I can get. So hearing that this book is actually not about tennis, it may be of some help. Also listening to this on my long runs
