Heavy start to this book included an on page home invasion, rape, and murder.

I'm really enjoying the mystery of Jazz and her background. So many secrets have yet to be revealed. The book started out with just enough of the budding romance between partners Jazz and Xavier, and then jumped into the story involving Jazz's past and her missing brother. Great stuff!

The last Option Zero novel was really a disappointment. Even though it had a high rating on Goodreads, I found it to be a very weak addition to the series. If this one isn't better, then I probably won't continue with this series.

This is the first true romantic suspense I've read in a while. The suspense builds right along with the romance.

So far there is a nice balance between romance and suspense, and the plot is enjoyable.

I've really been looking forward to reading this because the reviews have been great, but there is almost no conflict. Hallie and Rio haven't gotten over each other, and they get along really well. The only issue is why they broke up originally. I'm really bored. I don't want to DNF, but I also don't want to go back into my slump that already lasted 8 months.

The most interesting part so far is not knowing what split up Hallie and Rio in the first place. I guess we will learn what that is later in the story.

The spit play gives me a bit of the ick.

The story so far has been about getting to know the characters and some secrets about the time, Faye, the FMC, left town. What is unclear to me is why Faye would come back to her home town and expect to do undercover work when so many people already know her.

I liked the first book in this series, but I did think it was a little over hyped. I'm interested to see if I feel the same way about this one.

The game being played by the killer makes the novel more enjoyable. Even though this is really my kind of story, I'm having trouble feeling engaged with the characters. Not sure why.

A little different from her other novels. This one involves a game that Kim is having to play along with her team and Tracy Frost.

As all of Angela Marsons Kim Stone novels, this one is well written, but I'm not enjoying the story. I don't really care much about the mystery and besides Kim Stone's team, all of them are unlikable.

The world of beauty pageants as a motive for murder, that's what drives this book. Unfortunately, I think I already know who the murderer is. The other case involving a son abusing his mother is disturbing. I'm considering a DNF of this book, not because it isn't written well, but because the subject matter is really bothering me.

I think this series probably could have been two or maybe even one book instead of three. There are so many similar hauntings and so much daily slice of life activities, that it becomes repetitive. However, the overarching plot is still entertaining and the descriptive pacing keeps the story moving.

As Sonya and the others go through more and more rooms in the Manor, they find such treasure that tell the history of the house and the ghosts who live there. If I didn't care about the characters, it might be tedious.

I'm not enjoying the story as much as I was. In comparison to the first book, this one is much slower and a bit repetitive. I'm still entertained by the likable characters and the haunted house, but there is little conflict between the characters, leaving the plot as mostly a slice of daily life.

The found family aspect of the book is endearing as are the animals that are part of the story. Nora Roberts' books seem to include some level of these elements. What is different about this book from other trilogies I've read by her is that each book is not solely focused on separate couples with one overarching plot that is carried throughout. This series is more like one story that continues through the books.

The pacing is so good in this book, just the right amount of suspense building.

Haunted House becomes scarier and the romance heats up. I'm invested in these characters now.

I'm loving the atmosphere and the plot so far. The haunted house aspect adds depth and a nice mystery to solve.

The nuts and bolts of the mystery are starting to come together. This book works well as a cozy/entertaining mystery, but there is very little emotional content, leaving me feeling disconnected.

So far, the mystery is good, but this story is very different from her Stephanie Plum series. There is some humor but not laugh out loud. More tongue in cheek type of humor. Not really what I expected, but I'm invested and will continue on with the book.

Interesting story centering around the art world. As always, J.D. Robb does a wonderful job with research, allowing for credible facts in the story.

Had to return library book, so temporarily put on hold.

The characters are fun and the plot is enjoyable. However, there isn't enough depth to grab me and make the book hard to put down.

I believe a twist might be coming.

Eli Cross is really the mystery of this novel, especially for Nathalie.

Suspense builds as the "big heist" approaches.
