i swear to god i wanted to read war and peace again. i don't even know how and why i ended up here

this is so trashy. the dialogue? not even *remotely* resembling a real-life conversation. the plot? non-existent. the steam? even that is syrupy sweet.

but it's trash with trans rep so the mere existence of this book will get like 3 stars from me. i don't make the rules

This book is my only beacon of hope right now and I'd give my life for TJ as a humble thank you for destroying my soul.

I'm having major feelings about this book.

A couple thoughts so far:

1) The final page count is still terrifying but it has been so enjoyable so far, I'm glad I'm not already halfway through this. My buddy Tolstoy knows how to keep your attention.

2) I read a review somewhere how Tolstoy always talks about the ladies' moustaches and I totally thought that was exaggerated and it was totally not exaggarated.

3) THEY STOLE A BEAR THOSE FUCKERS ARE MY FAVES

I have absolutely no self-control and I keep starting new books but I swear one day my currently reading list will say one (1!) book and not seven.

Like maybe that's gonna be in 10 years but it will happen. I know.

Also this book? I'm getting serious 'best book I've read this year' vibes but I'm not jumping the gun here, nope, not at all.

I totally get why people don't like self-help books like this. It's full of buzzwords and offers no real value - but it's my guilty pleasure. Because I know myself and sometimes I just have to read sentences like "he'd be successful precisely because of what he'd been through".

It's like motivational quotes on Pinterest. Do i think they're cliché? Sure. Do I still have about 3 different boards for them? Absolutely.

This book has been on my TBR for literal ages but now that I'm reading it, my dudes, I am really not enjoying it? This might become the most upsetting DNF of this year, but for now I'm powering through. Wish me luck.

I've become so weirdly attached to this book that now I'm scared to finish it.

I don't want to say goodbye!! I don't want Sam to die!! But I know he will!! It's a biography after all!!

I actually laughed out loud at parts, so congrats Mr. Riordan, Magnus Chase is officially funny - it's approved by me and all that.

Why do I have the feeling that this trilogy is going to break my heart?
