So far I can't bring myself to care about any of the characters. I hope this book gets better.

This book is overly long. I think the editor should have had a more aggressive go at it.

I have taken a dislike for the main female character, Rachel. What a spoiled, self-centered girl! I feel like I'm forcing myself to keep reading. Putting the book aside for now.

So far, this is a very interesting story. It takes place in an alternate reality from ours. I love Rusch's writing style and attention to detail.

I give up. I am pushing to continue reading. I have too many other books in my queue that I want to read to push to finish one that I don't like.

Typical book for this series.

There are way too many minor characters in this book. I keep getting confused on who is who, and what they are doing.

OK, I finished Book 1 of this series. Arabella is still an idiot with her former finance, Rett, following her around like a puppy. The plot is a non-logical progression of events spurred on by a series of massive coincidences and wild assumptions.

Enjoying it so far.

There are few things I learned, such as it doesn't matter if I salt steak before or after cooking. However, there are some cooking topics discussed that I have never heard of before and I don't think I need to know about now - for example, I am very sure I have never cooked or eaten a quenelle or echaude. Do I really care whether I should or should not use an unplated copper pan when cooing a fruit preserve?
