the book went suddenly from 3-4 stars to 2-3 stars due to complete change in tone and topic of the novel

so far so good, it is a relief to read a good book after the slog of The Incandescent by Tesh!

i can't finish the book. way too much written about the education system and the teaching process. The scenes where something actually happens are pretty well written but they are too few and not worth the slog.

no where near as good as her previous sci-fi book which felt original. so far this is too magic school cliche for me but i am giving it a chance... 🤞

i like it enough to listen to on my commute and walks but i dont think that i would be reading it while seated on my couch at night or at the cafe at lunch

i think it is the voice of the reader that is really bothering me. the translator sounds like a bad interpretation of how a young girl would talk

so far not loving it but hopefully it will grow on me
